Let us know what topic (earth (soil), plants, animals, water and air, the age of the participants, and we will arrange the Topic Reading and The Challenges to be sent to you. Fill out the form on the menu bar, and we will get busy putting our program together for you.
Topic Reading is a good way to give students an introduction to The Challenge Program. We recommend that students have a read BEFORE their nature trip…and also take a re-read after The Challenge. By reading and looking at the great photos included in The Topic Reading, students will have a better understanding. The Topic Reading is fun, interesting and stimulating. The Topic Reading was written to be a supplement to the NBL Challenges.
The Challenges are the main course and The Book does NOT replace these. If students have no time to read the Topic Reading, it is ok. Hopefully they can read it later. NBL have made the Topic Reading a gentle exposure to the topic, and the numerous photos, the topic comes more interesting.
In short, the Topic Reading is a great way for students to become excited and interested in a particular challenge, and The Topic Reading puts the Challenges in the right context by providing a larger picture to the topic.
The Topic Reading is a simple, straight forward read. Each topic is built to present a lot of fun facts that most people don’t know about the topic. Many adults have read The Topic Reading and comment how much they didn’t know about the topic. The Topic Reading also will support students general understanding and appreciation of science, biology, botany and chemistry. Although The Topic Reading is a nature read, science is everywhere in each topic.
I have also put in a rather easy True/False test at the end of Topic Read to challenge students to not just skim the book, but think while they are reading it. Many readers will be forced to return to the text to answer these questions correctly.
I have also included a lot of graphics and pictures into The Topic Read. This is to stimulate and create some awe! As The Book is an E Book, we are not wasting paper or ink to print it out, and I hope you do not print it, but use it digitally. Thanks…and Nature thanks you too.
